Cesar Manrique Maritime Park is a 22.000m2 complex on the coast of the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with incomparable view to the Auditorio de Tenerife, designed by Santiago Calatrava, the Palmetum botanical garden and the sea. Easily reachable by public transport and or car, this leisure center provides a big parking area. The black volcanic rock contrasts with the clear blue waters and the green of the palm trees and flowers that grace the whole area. Posthumous work of the famous artist César Manrique, the maritime park of Santa Cruz de Tenerife was inaugurated in 1995 quickly becoming a symbol of the capital and part of its cityscape. Its integration in the heart of the town and its proximity and close contact with the sea make it an area of unique beauty close to the city center.
For its design natural elements such as volcanic rocks, palm trees and ornamental plants were combined with salt water waterfalls . All seasoned with the unmistakable manriqueños toys wind.
In addition to its 3 saltwater pools it features catering services, shops, changing rooms, playgrounds, showers and gym plus rental services such as sunbeds and parasols, making it an ideal place for tourist activities as well as family, leisure and resting space.
The 2 main pools, of crystalline salt water, feature artificial islands inside and depth varies by region, enabling access by beach ramps or stairs. The whole area is perfectly equipped for prams and wheelchairs, as well as the dressing rooms and other services. It also has a paddling pool for the kids to enjoy the water and activities for children accompanied by their parents.
